Our Story
Our story started in 2004, under the arches at the top of Bermondsey Street a stones throw away from London Bridge Station.
In our cavernous studio, all of our work was carefully screen printed by hand on two 30m print tables. We worked really hard, learned our trade and were fortunate to prepare projects for some of the most prestigious creative institutions in London. From hand printed fabrics & wallpapers for the screen & stage, to unique designs created for the catwalk, we loved every minute of our time working with London’s talented creatives.
Our roots are in London, but as we watched our industry being revolutionised by new technology, we started to apply our creative care and attention to digital printing. We’re a family run business and saw that new technology could allow us to move our business away from the hustle of London to Lewes.
Our beautiful surroundings, full of historical charm in the shadow of Lewes Castle, continue to inspire our work every day. You are always welcome to plan a visit to our studio, or we can work with you from afar.
About Our Digital Fabric Printing
Having been specialists in hand silk screen printing onto textiles & wallpaper for over 12 years, Hatley Print now produce digitally printed fabrics on a bespoke basis for Film, TV, Theatre, Opera, Fashion, Interiors and Advertising.
Our digital print set up opens the door to array of printed textile options, no longer constricted by screen printing set up costs clients can produce multi colour designs and digital effects onto fabrics with ease. We have no minimum requirements & we can print onto a range of natural & synthetic textiles encompassing cotton, silk, linen & polyesters. Our fabric range covers everything from sheer silk chiffons to lustrous velvets, and plenty in between.
Our dedicated team offer a wide range of services, including art working & design consultancy, colour matching and fabric sourcing. Every project is treated individually & attention to detail is paramount. We pride ourselves on continuing to provide a quick, efficient & friendly service.
In addition to our bespoke work, Hatley print have also teamed up with Darcy Clothing to form Maltings Fabrics. Our aim is to supply costume professionals with authentic printed and woven fabrics that are becoming increasingly difficult to source.
